LOYOLA PRO-LIFE FORUM (LPLF)

Shift I

The LOYOLA PRO-LIFE FORUM (LPLF) founded by Dr. S. Jayasurya Kingsley (a retired Professor and former Head of the Department of Botany, Loyola College) in 2007 has as its primary objectives the promotion of activities that are pro-life and creating awareness among students about anti-life issues such as abortion, suicide, life-threatening diseases and adverse impacts on environment. Also, a positive approach towards life through organ/blood and eye donation, counselling and knowledge about the right to live have formed the basis of the activities of the LPLF.

After about 8 years, the forum pro-actively takes up issues related to life and raises its voice and records its support to pro-life measures through various events and programs being conducted by an exemplary team of student volunteers.

During the academic year 2014-15, there were about 50 students who had registered as pro-lifers and did commendable service promoting life and awareness against anti-life issues. The organizing skills and active participation of our student members during the last year was indeed laudable. As we face yet another promising academic year, we hope to achieve our targets with greater vigour and motivation. In the forthcoming months, we propose to organize seminars, rallies, marathons, road-shows and campaigns based on the central theme of the LPLF. The LPLF is a wonderful platform to be utilized by the fresh prolifers to emerge as men and women for others. We look forward to our young, energetic, vibrant and enthusiastic student pro-lifers who can cause a change in the society and touch at least one life positively before they leave the portals of Loyola.
