Loyola Students Support Services (LSSS) -> Activities

· Identifies the Dalits, First Graduates, Economically Poor, Orphans, Semi Orphans and Vulnerable students and helps them in the process of admission.
· Takes note of various management and Government scholarships available to various categories of students, such as SC/ST, MBC, BC, Differently Abled, FGL, Rural Girls and helps them in process of applying and receiving the Government scholarships and benefits.
· Administers additional financial help through management concessions by identifying the target students in the first semester itself and help in reducing the burden of paying their fee during their studies.
· Taps the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds in corporate sectors for the assistance of poor and vulnerable students in Loyola College.
· Helps in availing all the foresaid scholarships without any delay and difficulty by helping them with academic advice and logistical support.
· Caters to the needs of the academically poor students and helps them through Enabling classes (Remedial Classes) and Special English Coaching Classes in collaboration with respective departments.
· Monitors the academic activities by tracking the records of achievements for better monitoring and counselling.
· Coordinates with the management and helps the deserving students to avail the Noon Meal Scheme.
· Collaborates with the Training and Placement cell, and assists the students to get Part Time jobs (on Campus and off Campus)
· Conducts periodic workshops and organize seminars on Indian history and culture with a focus on subaltern realities.
· Forms various fora and organizes seminars and workshops to develop their skills and self respect.

How to apply for management concessions?

· A notice will be put up in the college by indicating all the information regarding management concession
· Deserving students can apply by collecting an application paying Rs.20
· Filled in application has to be submitted at the LSSS office on or before the deadline mentioned on the notice board. No application will be accepted after the deadline.

Special feature
· The Students who are economically poor and have improved their percentage of marks in the exams will be given more concession than the previous semester just to encourage them.
· The beneficiaries should be regular for classes, for retreats (if applicable), for the enabling classes on English  and on other subjects and other orientation programmes organized for the Dalit and poor students in the college by LSSS.

Who are not eligible?
· The students who have more than 2 arrears in the first year, more than 3 in the second year and more than 4  in the third year are not eligible as they are not responding to the objective of our management fee concession.
· Either of whose parents draws any Government salary/pension
· Who do not meet the required percentage of the attendance
· Who fail to attend the special programmes organized for the poor and Dalit students by the LEADS
· The catholic students who fail to attend the retreats without prior permission.
· In case the application form is incomplete without consent or knowledge of the LSSS Director.
· The students who receive scholarships from other Agencies / Organisation / NGOs.
· The students whose parents income is more than 2 lacs per year in Shift I and 3 lacs in Shift II

Auto Debit Form
· Auto Debit Form is an undertaking given by the Student and his/her parent to transfer the Government Scholarship to the LSSS account in case the student has received an advance amount equal to the expected scholarship from the Government.
· When the students are not able to pay the semester fees even after the management concession is approved, then the students are supposed to give an Auto Debit Form for the Government Scholarship.
· In case of failure in obtaining the scholarship from the Government for various reasons the student has to pay the amount after deducting management concession.
