International Conference on Recent Trends in Materials and Magnetism (RTMM - 22)

LOYOLA COLLEGE, CHENNAI
Loyola College was founded by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1925. The college aims at training young men and women of quality to be leaders in all walks of life. UGC has elevated Loyola College to the status of "College of Excellence". The SIRO (Scientific Industrial Research Organization) status recevied in January, 2011 enables a 175% tax exemption to the donors of Loyola College Society for the purpose of Scientific research U/s. 35 of Income Tax Act. The college is ranked 4th in the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) Ranking-2021. Loyola Institutions Innovation Council (LIIC) affiliated to MIC under the Ministry of Education - Government of India - is rated with 4.5 out of 5-star rating and has been recognised as a mentor institution in promoting and nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship.

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
Established in the year 1926 offers UG, PG and Ph.D programmes in Chemistry and also PG programme in Food Chemistry and Food Processing. The department has well qualified staff member, actively involved in teaching and research in fields such as supramolecular assembly, organic synthesis, coordination chemistry, nanomaterials, catalysis, thin-film coatings, phytochemistry, corrosion, theoretical and computational chemistry. The department has to its credits several major and minor research projects funded by agencies such as DST, UGC, CSIR, etc., & more than 500 publications, 5 Indian patents and produced nearly 115 PhD scholars.

SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES

Novel Inorganic and organic materials are used to develop sensors/devices in the fields of energy generation, electronics, digital data storage, catalysis, medicine, etc., These materials offer a compact, highly efficient, eco-friendly alternative solutions to the current environmental crisis. This international conference will serve as a platform for chemists, physicists, material scientists, research scholars and students to discuss the promising and ground-breaking developments in areas such as Molecular Nanomagnets, Multifunctional magnetic materials, Molecular Spintronics, Optical Magnets etc.
