Digital Journalism & 3D Animation


To boost vocational education and to bridge the industry-academia gap, the Central Government of India along with the University Grants Commission(UGC) established 'Deen Dayal Upadhyay KAUSHAL Kendras' all over India, during the XII plan period.

The DDU KAUSHAL Kendra in Loyola College is among the pioneers in this initiative of integrating skill based trainings into the academic cycle starting its B.Voc. and M.Voc. degree programs from the Academic year 2016-17.

To take the vocational education to new levels and to provide Job-oriented courses, the KAUSHAL Kendra in Loyola College is offering B.Voc. and M.Voc. degree programs in the streams of 3D Animation and Digital Journalism.

The curriculum of these courses embeds the guiding principles of Qualification Packs (QPs) and National Occupational Standards (NOSs) set by industry through the Media and Entertainment Skill Council (MESC).

* Practical skills are imparted through high-end workstations in both UG and PG Multimedia Labs.
* Students work with latest software like Maya, 3D Max and Adobe Packages.
* Drawing Studio with a capacity of 100 students helps improve skills of fine arts.
* Projector facilities available in all classrooms enables staff to handle classes effectively.
* Free wi-fi access to all staff and students enables digital teaching and learning.
* High end digital cameras, lens, digital recorders available in the department to help students acquire professional skills.
* The department functions in close touch with the industry. Many Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) signed between the Institution and Industry.

The Vision of the department is to create a sustainable industry aligned academic ecosystem that empowers youth in innovation, entrepreneurship and employability.
